I was not an active child. I had a mother with a “you’ll shoot your eye out” mentality regarding anything physical. So I was in the school band and yearbook, which was great for a lot of reasons, but I never had a chance to see that physical activity could be fun and rewarding and not a chore.

Because of my limited experience with working out, I thought exercise meant living on an elliptical for hours at a time. I once tried the weight room at my gym and was immediately intimidated. I would go to the gym or follow workout DVDs for a few weeks and get bored. And I had no clue how to eat.

Then, in 2007 I tried something I had never done before —CrossFit. My boyfriend, now husband, had me join him for a workout. It was unlike anything I had ever done. I actually felt kind of cool doing it too. CrossFit changed the way I viewed fitness, my body and slowly changed my relationship with food.

Fast forward to 2010, we opened our own CrossFit affiliate. We owned the gym for nine and a half years and were able to help hundreds of people discover they were capable of more than they ever thought, physically and mentally. In 2019, we sold the gym, but have never lost the desire to help people improve their health and fitness.

So here we are!
