Lean in or Get Dragged Along

The world is different, and no one knows when or if it will be like it used to be. So as hard as it might be, there is no use in worrying about what the future will look like. Instead, let’s make the most of the here and now.

This is an opportunity to practice leaning in, accepting our situations and making the most of it. Learn a new skill, read that book you have always wanted to, or do nothing and embrace it!

Here are some practices you can incorporate into your day to help minimize stress and find a new normal.

  • Create a routine and stick to it, even if you don’t have to. Write it down at first if needed. Giving yourself a routine can help you to focus on the present instead of worrying about the unknown future.

  • Practice gratitude. Even when you can leave your house again, practice gratitude.

  • Set a goal. It might be a daily goal, like wearing pants or to finally clean out your closet. Or it can be more long-term, like learning an instrument. That goal doesn’t have to be all business either, it could be something fun or silly, like mastering the flipping a water bottle.

The alternative is to fight tooth and nail and get dragged along into this different world we live in. We all adjust differently, at different times. If this is you, read this.

No one has the answer and that makes this scary, but we are in this together. If you need guidance or someone to bounce ideas off of, we are happy to help!
