We have all been thrust into a world of uncertainty. Plans canceled, events rescheduled and the fate of our jobs and businesses are in question. And on top of that, many of us have had to take on new roles of teachers to young children. Man, that’s a lot to process! I don’t know about you, but I felt like I was constantly trying to balance work and parenting before the pandemic, and now it’s that much harder.
This is unprecedented and no one knows what’s going to happen next. It’s okay to be worried and to be stressed. It’s okay that you don’t always feel like working out or eating vegetables. Give yourself some slack. Just not too much. Check in with yourself. Do you not want to workout because you aren’t looking forward to the workout? Or are you just so stressed and worn down that you need 20 minutes of quiet?
Take care of your body, but not at the expense of your emotional health. We are treading in untested waters. This is a time to have empathy and compassion for others and also yourself.
